IAS Abhishek Singh: Had left IAS job for films, wrote a letter to return, got this reply.

IAS Abhishek Singh : Once again, Abhishek Singh, the renowned IAS officer from Uttar Pradesh, is in the spotlight. Singh, who had previously resigned from his bureaucratic post to pursue a career in films, now seeks to return to government service. He has written a letter to the Personnel and Training Department (DOPT) of the Central Government, requesting reinstatement, which has been forwarded to the state government.

According to senior officials from the Appointment and Personnel Department, Abhishek Singh has written to the department again for rejoining the IAS. The letter has been sent to the Department of Personnel and Training (DOPT) of the Central Government. The final decision will be made by the DOPT.

Sources reveal that the state government has not yet expressed its agreement on the sent request. The Appointment and Personnel Department, while rejecting his rejoining in service, has forwarded its recommendation to the Central Government.

Know About Abhishek Singh

Abhishek Singh, belonging to the 2011 batch of IAS officers, secured the 94th rank in the UPSC examination. In 2013, he was posted as a Joint Magistrate in Jhansi. Subsequently, he was deputed to Delhi for three years in 2015, and his term was extended for another two years in 2018. However, during this period, he went on medical leave. The Delhi government eventually sent him back to his original cadre in Uttar Pradesh. Despite being offered to rejoin Uttar Pradesh, he did not respond positively to the appointment department until 2022 when he rejoined.

Resignation in 2023:

In 2022, he was appointed as an observer for the Gujarat Legislative Assembly elections. However, following the circulation of a viral photo, the Election Commission relieved him of his duties. Subsequently, disciplinary action was taken against him. After the suspension, in October 2023, Abhishek resigned, which was approved in March 2024.

Worked in Several Music Albums:

Abhishek Singh has worked as an actor in several music albums. His appearance in the song “Dil Tod Ke” brought him into the limelight. The song, written by Manoj Muntashir and sung by B Praak, was released by T-Series in July 2020. He was also seen in a song released in Jubin Nautiyal’s voice, “Tujhe Bhoolna Toh Chaaha.” He also acted in the Netflix web series “Delhi Crime” Season 2. Additionally, he appeared in a ramp song with Sunny Leone.

His wife is the DM of Banda:

Abhishek Singh, a 2010 batch IAS officer, is married to Durga Shakti Nagpal, the DM of Banda. He passed the civil services examination in 2008, although his selection was for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) at that time. Later, in 2009, he secured the 20th rank in the civil services and was allotted the Punjab cadre. After his marriage to Durga Shakti, he was allocated the Uttar Pradesh cadre.

Politically and Socially Active:

He is politically and socially active in his hometown of Jaunpur. When the foundation stone for the Ram Temple was laid in Ayodhya in January, he began providing free buses to Ayodhya for the people of Jaunpur in February. He had expressed his desire to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Jaunpur and had requested a ticket from the BJP. However, the BJP fielded Kripa Shankar Singh from Jaunpur. After seeing no future in politics, he has applied again for government service.
