Major Road Accident in Nepal: Indian Bus Carrying 40 Passengers Plunges into River

Road Accident in Nepal : A major road accident occurred in Nepal, where a bus carrying more than 40 Indian passengers plunged into a river. The tragic incident resulted in the death of 14 people, while 29 others were rescued. According to police reports, 15 of the rescued passengers are able to communicate, while the rest are receiving medical treatment. Initially, the police estimated that there were only 40 passengers on the bus.

Senior Police Superintendent Ravindra Regmi mentioned that the search operation is ongoing for the remaining passengers. Those rescued have been taken to the hospital for treatment, and the identities of the passengers are yet to be determined. Some of the survivors are unable to speak, and investigations are ongoing.

Nepalese police officials confirmed that the bus fell into the Marsyangdi River in Tanahun district. District Police Office DSP Deepak Kumar Raya stated that the bus, bearing the number plate UP FT 7623, was traveling from Pokhara to Kathmandu when the accident occurred.

Several Passengers Missing, Rescue Efforts Continue

Officials reported that due to heavy rainfall, the river was swollen at the time of the accident. While 29 passengers have been rescued, several others remain missing. The bus involved in the accident is registered in Uttar Pradesh, India. However, it is not yet clear which district of Uttar Pradesh the passengers were from. The Relief Commissioner of Uttar Pradesh stated that efforts are being made to identify the passengers and establish contact with their families to determine where they were traveling from.
