NEET UG 2024 Counselling: NEET UG Counselling Postponed, New Date to be Announced Soon

NEET UG 2024 Counselling: The NEET-UG counselling has been postponed until further notice. The Ministry of Education will soon announce the new dates for the counselling. This postponement comes after the Supreme Court refused to delay the NEET-UG counselling, which was set to start today, stating that it is not an “open and shut” process.

NEET UG counselling is conducted in multiple rounds, including rounds for vacancies and a mop-up round. Students who have passed the medical entrance exam first need to register and pay the fee for NEET UG counselling. Following this, they need to fill in and lock their choices. Later, they must upload documents and report in person to the allotted institute.

Under the 15% AIQ (All India Quota), NEET UG counselling includes seats in government colleges, central and deemed universities, seats reserved for children of insured persons (IP quota) in Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) medical colleges, and seats available at the Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) in Pune.

It should be noted that the Supreme Court, presided over by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, along with Justices JB Pardiwala and Manoj Misra, is set to hear several NEET UG 2024 petitions on July 8. These petitions include allegations of paper leaks, demands to cancel and re-conduct the entire examination, calls for an investigation into the functioning of the National Testing Agency (NTA), and other concerns.
